What is recorded here

On a slight natural rise, on the plateau between valleys, in reclaimed grassland. There are very good views in all directions. A sub-rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 48m NE-SW; c. 42m NW-SE) depicted on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map and 1900 revision but had been levelled by 1987. A public road running roughly E-W immediately N of the enclosure, kinks out, appearing to curve deliberately to avoid it. It is not visible at ground level but can been seen on as a cropmark on satellite imagery (Google Earth 27 March 2012 and 28 June 2018). See attached Google Earth images.
