The Down Survey (1655-6) terrier accompanying the parish map of Tubrid describes, 'some thatch houses in Tuberid' and lists Robert Shortall Irish Papist as the proprietor in 1640 (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin).
