On a low NE-SW ridge on a valley floor, in reclaimed grassland. There are fair views along and across the valley. Shown as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map. Only the W half is indicated on the 1900 revision, with a small area of quarrying (dims. c. 20m NE-SW; c. 15m NW-SE) immediately to the SE. This quarrying may have been filled in as it is not visible on satellite imagery, but another area of quarrying (dims. c. 22m NE-SW; c. 10m NW-SE) is visible at the E edge of the enclosure (Digitalglobe imagery, viewed 14 June 2019). The monument had been levelled by 1987 and is not visible at ground level, however, the outline of the N portion is visible on satellite imagery (OS Ortho and Digitalglobe imagery, viewed 14 June 2019).
