On the E side of a level terrace below the crest of a ridge of hills between the Deen and Gloshia rivers, in wet marshy terrain with many small streams. There views are limited views in all directions. A rectangular platform (int. dims. 22m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by slight overgrown bank with wide external waterlogged fosse (Wth c. 4-5m; D c. 0.6m). Barry (1977, 191) mentions that there are 'two springs in moat'. Water from the fosse flows from the SE and SW corner.
