According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 102), 'Calcined human bones have been found on the fringe of the plateau, while quarrying operations were being carried on there; also in the inner rampart, within a square enclosure formed of flags; and also in glazed urns upturned while levelling part of the outer rampart, at the west side'. The precise location of these burials within the hillfort is unknown.
