What is recorded here

On the Down Survey (1655-6) Crannagh barony map, there are two houses depicted in the N portion of the townland. The terrier accompanying the Down Survey parish map for 'Part of Jerypoynt Abbey', records that 'It containes onely the towne lands of Garrannemannagh alias Garra=[A] CLoran which hath one house and some cabbins thereon’. The location of these houses within the townland is unknown. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 19 February 2018

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
