This was classified in the SMR (1987) as 'Village deserted' based on 'Oldtowne' indicated on the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map for Fassadining, however, this refers to the townland of the same name. There is no visible trace of a pre-1700 century settlement, though the small fields, aligned NW-SE, indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS map E of the main road may denote the remains of a settlement. However, currently there is insufficient evidence to locate the settlement within the townland.
