On top of a hill in hilly terrain, with a valley running E-W at base of the hill to the N, in pasture. The views are good to the N and W and extensive to the E and S. A slightly oval ringfort (diam. c. 30m N-S; c. 36m E-W) raised above exterior and is defined by a low broad bank (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 1.08m; Wth at crest 1m; overall Wth 3.1m) with some evidence of a fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.12m) at the base of the N quadrant where there is also loose stone, perhaps from bank collapse and/or field clearance. The bank, which has a high stone content, appears to be largely reduced to scarp, however, it is much obscured by vegetation. There is some erosion in the NE quadrant at the edge of the scarp. The interior is heavily overgrown with brambles, nettles and some hawthorns, though they are mostly growing around the perimeter. A field boundary with a high stone content, running NNE-SSW, transects the NW quadrant. On the 25-inch OS map there is a possible entrance depicted in the NNW sector where it is transected by the field boundary. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 23 July 2018
