On raised and relatively drier ground along the edge of a bog, possibly a former lake. The land has been part drained for agricultural use. Two other fulachta fiadh (KK008-197---- and KK008-199----) lie 87m to the SW and 97m to the NE respectively. A classic U-shaped mound (diam. c. 11m) with an opening to the SSE denoting the trough.
