In a marshy field on the edge of wetlands to the W. Excavated in 2006 in advance of the M8/N8 Cullahill to Cashel Road Improvement Scheme (Excavation licence no. E2388). A mound (L 7m N-S; Wth 5m; D 0.35m) composed of compacted black sandy silt with frequent charcoal and heat-shattered stone. A timber from a circular trough (L 1.86m N-S; Wth 1.84m; D 0.4m) with a flat base beneath the spread yielded a radiocarbon date of 2870-2490 cal BC (Poz-25875). Another fulacht fia (KK008-195----) was excavated c. 20 to the W. (Hardy 2009, 267, no. 1041; Hardy and Green 2009)
