On a natural terrace above a river flood plain and below higher uplands, in gently rolling, cultivated grassland. There is a fair view in all directions. A roughly circular area (diam. 26m N-S; 27m E-W) enclosed by steep wide flat-topped earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H c. 1.7m; ext. H c. 2.04m) and wide external fosse (Wth 4-5m; D c. 1m), which is poorly preserved in the W sector. There is an entrance in the N sector but it is possibly modern. The interior is overgrown.
