On a natural terrace between a river flood plain and uplands, in fairly level grassland. There are fairly good views in all directions. A roughly circular area (diam.c. 38m on 25-inch OS map) enclosed by wide high earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H c. 1.4-1.8m; ext. H at least 2.5m) and wide external fosse (Wth 4-5m; D c. 1m). Original entrance (Wth 3m) at NE. The interior is fairly heavily overgrown.
