What is recorded here

Just below crest of a roughly E-W ridge overlooking a small river valley, the ground slope steeply to the valley floor to the N, E and W, in rough pasture. Rathlogan Fort (KK008-060001-) is situated on the opposing hill to the NNW. There are very good views in all directions, though land rises slightly to the S. A roughly circular area (int. dims. 32m N-S; 8m E-W) enclosed by a slight earthen bank (Wth c. 3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H c. 1.8m) and external fosse (Wth 2.5m; D 0.6m), best preserved at the NE. The interior is very irregular due to quarry holes and was heavily overgrown with nettles and thistles at time of inspection. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 24 October 2017
