A crudely stone-lined natural spring (opening 0.7m x 0.5m; water D c. 0.5-0.6m) at the base of a steep slope (Farrelly et al. 1993, vol. 1, 128). According to Carrigan (1905, vol. 2, 160), 'Old people still come to pray here. It is called by some the "Wood well," by others the "Cruckny well," which latter fairly represents the true name, viz., Tiobar na Croiche Naoimh, i.e. Well of the Holy Cross'.
