What is recorded here

On brow of a SE-facing slope in an area of marshy ground. There are good views from SE-S-WNW, elsewhere the views are limited by a rise in ground level. A circular, raised, marshy area (int. diam. 36.4m E-W) enclosed by a substantial earth and stone bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 2m; Wth including slip 5.4m) and external fosse (Wth 3m; D below field level at N 1.20m). There is a clearly defined causewayed entrance (dims. 7m x 3.45m) in the NE quadrant. The bank is best preserved from SSW-N-E and is quite denuded elsewhere. The fosse is very pronounced from SSW-N-E but it is shallow and overgrown with vegetation from E-SSW. A counterscarp bank follows line of the fosse from SW-N-NE only. The interior is marshy and the NW sector is heavily overgrown with briars and bushes.
