What is recorded here

On level ground in a low-lying plain of the River Gaul. Discovered during the monitoring of the construction of a third tailings pond at Galmoy Mines in 2006 (Excavation licence no. 06E0298). The semicircular remains of a burnt spread (c. 5m x 10m; D c. 0.05-0.1m). Destroyed at W by the insertion of a drainage ditch. . The monument was preserved in situ under a layer of geotextile, a layer of hardcore and topsoil. Two fulachta fia (KK003-043---, Kk003-044----) lie c. 170m to the E.
