What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on the S bank of a stream, on the N-facing slope of Knockowen. A horseshoe-shaped sod-covered mound (9.8m N-S; 5.7m E-W; H 1m) of burnt material. The opening (4.3m N-S; 2.3m E-W) faces W. Exposed burnt material is visible at the tip of the NW arm and a boulder is situated at the tip of the SW arm. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
