Stone circle in Liss

Possible stone circle identified and described by Aoibheann Lambe as follows; 'Set on the grounds of a modern bungalow in an area that is overgrown, it is situated on a rise beyond the garden, with expansive views over the roof of the house at SE to Skehanagh and at SW to Kenmare River. This possible stone circle is located on an overgrown elevated site in the townland of Liss and overlooks Kenmare River to SW. It consists of a circular arrangement of six upright stones and at least 7 more stones, one of which lies prostrate and others which have become obscured by the overgrowth or have been displaced by falling, particularly those on its south side where there is a drop of 1m at the edge of the circle. The level ground of the interior which has a diameter of 6m (6m NS and 6m EW) is overgrown and there are a number of young trees growing in it. The prostrate stone at NE is rectangular in shape and measures 1.25m by 0.6m and is 0.2m thick. At NNE, an upright stone, 1m high, 1.2m across at its widest point and 0.2m thick, tilts forward into the circle. Immediately in front of this is some rubble and a stone shaped like a triangular prism, the side facing the interior of the circle measuring 0.7m across at its base, its surface sloping upwards measuring 0.9m and the top surface 0.5m. Between N to NE, there is a gap c. 3m wide with an embankment, 0.2m high, extending to a field wall 7m to E. At ENE, there are two stones with the one nearest N being 0.45m high, 1.1m long at its base and 0.6m thick. The other is upright, standing 1.15m high, and is 1.5m wide and 0.4m thick. At ESE, a stone measuring 0.5m high on the side facing the circle and 1m on the other side, is 0.8m wide and 0.2m thick. At S, there is a stone 0.2m thick, 1m wide whose interior face is 0.35m high while the exterior face is 1m long. To S, there is a drop of 1m and it is very overgrown. There are at least 4 stones (c. 1m long) on the lower level that may have formed part of the circle. At W, there is a gap between 2 upright stones one 0.75m high, 0.75m wide and 0.4m thick while the other boulder is triangular shaped with the side facing the interior of the circle measuring 1m by 1m by 1m. There are 2 large boulders outside the circle, one 3m SW of this triangular shaped stone and the other a further 4m SW. Neither portals nor an axial stone have been identified'.
