What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on a SW-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. A roughly semicircular area (c. 17m SSE-NNW) defined by a double row of upright contiguous stone slabs (Wth c. 1m; H c. 0.5m) ENE-WSW with a straight SSE side (L c. 25m) was recorded during a previous site inspection (SMR file). During a subsequent inspection in 2003 there were no visible remains of this enclosure. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2011
