What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on a S-facing slope, overlooking Lough Inchiquin. An ESE-WNW section of a collapsed drystone wall extends c. 10m upslope, turning to the NNW for c. 52m and twisting gently to the W for c. 16m. The wall (T 0.7m; H 0.1-0.4m) protrudes above the surface of the bog. A hut site (KE101-110004-) abuts the W side of the relict wall and another hut site (KE101-110005-) is 7m to the W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2011
