What is recorded here

In rough hill pasture, on the N bank of a river, on an E-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. The remains of an oval hut site (5m E-W; 2.2m N-S) defined by a grass-covered bank (Wth 1.2m) of earth and stone. The SE portion of the interior is raised (H 1m) and the W portion is cut (D 0.4m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. The interior is level and obscured by ferns. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2011
