In rough hill pasture, on the SE side of a ridge, between Lough Inchiquin to the SE and Cloonee Lough Upper to the NW. B. Ó Cíobháin recorded a placename 'Cnocán an Ghalláin', in this townland (SMR file). There are no visible remains of any stone here. It is possible that the placename referred to the standing stone (KE101-012002-) which is named 'Gallaun' on the 1895-7 OS 6-inch map.
