Caherfarreesh/Cathair Fearghais: The wall of this caher is surmounted by a modern field boundary, and retains the irregular outline depicted on the second edition of the OS map. It is located on a slight rise, and overlooks Ballinskelligs Bay to NW. The original enclosing element can be traced beneath the field boundary along the W half of the site, where it is faced internally and externally with large boulder-like slabs. It encloses a rubble core and is on average 3m wide. The original entrance, 1.15m wide, is located at E and is flanked on its S side by an upright slab, 1m high. The interior of the site is occupied by a large rectangular structure which measures 8m N-S by 11m E-W. Its walls survive .7m high and 1.4m wide, and it appears to be of no significant antiquity.
