New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Grousemount, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. Probable rock shelter discovered beneath a natural projection of slab-like sandstone (ITM grid co-ord. 510173, 570160). A short sheltering wall was built under the lowest slab, on its western side, creating a small space approximately 1m3 in size. This would have been large enough for an individual to crouch inside, or for a sheep or goat to take shelter inside.
