New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Grousemount, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. The remains of an east to west aligned rectangular hut site located on the southern side of a large outcropping of rock, c.30m to the east of the access spur to T.02 at ITM grid co-ordinate 509446, 571237. The northern side of the hut is formed by a vertical slab of rock outcropping. The east and south walls are formed by randomly arranged large sub-angular uncut stones, which extend across only a short portion of the western end of the feature, indicating a possible entrance. The external dimensions of the feature are 5.5m east to west by 1.9m north to south. The average height of the walls is 0.6m and the average width is 0.9m. This hut site overlooks a pocket of pasture which contains a two further hut sites, NICH18 and NICH19 which are located c.25m and 30m to the southeast respectively.
