New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Ballagh, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. Sub-rectangular hut site located on a moderate west facing slope to the west of the Roughty River and c.25m north of CH32 (ITM grid co-ord. 507756, 568762). The feature is formed by a dry-stone wall enclosing an area measuring c.3.4m E-W by c.2.5m N-S to the immediate south of a large natural outcrop. The natural outcrop largely forms the northern enclosing portion of the feature; however, some purposely placed stones are also present on this side to block unenclosed spaces. The enclosing dry-stone wall on the east, south and west sides is extant up to 3 to 4 courses or c.0.75m in height, and 0.60m in width. See attached photograph courtesy John Cronin.
