New site identified by John Cronin & Associates (JCA) under Licence No. 16E0127 prior to wind farm development in Coolnagoppoge, Kilgarvan, Co. Kerry by ESB Wind Development Ltd. A rectangular enclosure, defined by a largely overgrown dry-stone wall, located to the northwest of BP-B at ITM grid co-ordinate 506730, 571662 and within an area of dense rush and long molinia grass growth which visibly mask much of its features. External dimensions of 17.7m northwest to southeast, 13m northeast to southwest, with the walls measuring between 0.3m and 1m in height and 0.5m and 0.7 m in width. Encloses an area of uneven ground with the internal eastern portion up to 1m higher than both the western internal area and the external ground on the eastern side. This suggests the formation of an artificially raised area within the eastern portion of the enclosure. Most likely associated with 19th century farmstead located c.200m south of this feature. Similar in morphology to sites such as CH17, CH18, NICH34, NICH35. See attached photograph courtesy John Cronin.
