In Kilgarvan village on the S side of the street. A two-storey former schoolhouse. Front (N-facing) of six bays; central, full-height, gabled projection of two bays with door off-centre to right; side elevations of two bays. Band-course extends across front and W side between ground- and first-floor. Rectangular window opes throughout with modern frames. Hipped roof with projecting eaves. Building extensively renovated with recent addition to rear. Inscribed stone plaque on gable of central projection reads 'Kilgarvan National School AD 1858'. It is now in use as a community centre.
