A mill is indicated on the W bank of the Finnihy River, to the N of an iron furnace, on the Down Survey barony map (1655-6) of Dunkerron. Its precise location is not known. The iron furnace is probably the ironworking site (KE093-125----) in the adjoining townland of Tubbrid.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
