What is recorded here

In rough pasture, on a level break in a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Sheen River to the SW and W. A stretch of a N-S relict field wall (Wth 0.5m; H c. 0.2m) protrudes above the surface of the bog (D 0.4m) and meanders upslope for c. 90m. Sections of the wall disappear beneath the surface where the peat is deeper. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2011
