What is recorded here

Located in boggy pasture S of the Derreendarragh river, this heavy block-like stone stands 1.95m high and measures 1.32m wide and 1.1m thick at base; NW-SE. Part of its S face has spalled away relatively recently, the debris from it lying scattered near its base. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 201. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 28 July 2013
