What is recorded here

Recorded in the OSNB (Kilcrohane, 31), but not on the OS maps, this standing stone is located in rough boggy land on a W facing ridge overlooking Small river. A rectangular block, 1.2m high, it inclines slightly to the W. Part of its upper surface has spalled off. It measures .8m wide and .65m thick at base; NW-SE. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 182. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 28 July 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
