What is recorded here

In gently sloping rough pasture on the S slope of the hillock, the largely level and exposed portion of the weathered upper surface of this earthfast sandstone boulder (L. 1.4m N/S ,Wth 1m E/W at its S end, narrowing to c. 0.5m at its N extent), partly overlain with vegetation at E, W and S, is inscribed with a centrally located picked ring (Wth 1.5–1.75cm, D 3¬–8mm) which is squarish in shape (sides c. 15cm). The area enclosed by the ring has been lightly worked and its level is slightly lower (2–5mm) than the surrounding surface. E of the ring, a clearly defined picked line (Wth 3cm, D 3¬–8mm) runs NNE/SSW for approx. 1.1m, continuing under the vegetation at its N and S extents. Beyond the picked line to E, approx. 0.5m SE of the ring, a cupmark (diam. 6cm, D c. 8mm) is partly overlain by vegetation. Other motifs, including a line running from the ring and continuing towards SW, are faintly traceable. Compiled by: Aoibheann Lambe Date of upload/revision: 13 May 2019
