Cross-Inscribed Ogham Stone: This stone stands 1.95m high and measures .25m x .13m at base. Its upper end tapers to a rather rough point. The inscription was read by Macalister (1945, 229) as:
ANM MOLEGOMRID MACI VECUMEN
The vowels E and O are represented by the forfeda. An I, between the M and R of the second word, was dismissed by Macalister as modern nicking. The last three letters of the word MACI are no longer discernible. A roughly executed cross, possibly secondary, is carved at the base of the stone. Brash recorded that the stone stood upside-down prior to its removal to the Christian Brothers' monastery in Cahersiveen in the 1870s (1879, 240). It was returned to the site shortly afterwards.
