What is recorded here

Possible promontory fort described in 2003 as follows; ‘A 28m long 22m wide southwest-facing steep sided low headland is cut off from the mainland by a slightly curving low earthen bank and external fosse. Several cattle gaps in the bank are the only traces of an entrance feature. The interior is covered by old lazybeds and a low perimeter bank has all but collapsed into the sea. The shore is accessible from within. The curvature of the bank and its location across the promontory is the only suggestion of earlier defence. The slight dimensions, although not the design, are similar to nearby field boundaries. The surrounding area consists of fertile cleared and drained pasture. A long narrow headland immediately to the north shows similar signs of defence’ (Casey 2003, 29, no. F).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
