What is recorded here

In pasture, on a NW-facing slope. A circular area (36.5m E-W; 35m N-S) defined by a partially collapsed drystone wall (T 3.6-4.6m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.35m) of large stones. There is a possible entrance at NE. The N portion of the interior is raised (H 0.8m) and the S portion is cut (D 1.1m) into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. There is a possible hut site (KE075-005001-) and a souterrain (KE075-005002-) in the SW quadrant. Large rocks align the wall externally along the SW arc and slippage from the wall is visible along the base of the wall, internally and externally. Field boundaries radiate out from the cashel wall at NNW, NE and SW. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011
