What is recorded here

Not marked on the OS maps, this enclosure is located on the lower NE foothills of Broaghnabinnia mountain. An almost square area, 13m N-S x 13.5m E-W, is enclosed by a substantial drystone wall which measures 1m high and 1m wide. A collapsed gap, c. 2m wide, occurs in each of the E and W walls. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 710. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
