What is recorded here

This site, which was no longer in use by the late nineteenth century, is located in marshy land just W of the Kilduff river. It consists of a sub-circular, stony area, 6.8m N-S x 9.3m E-W, which rises up to 1m above the external ground level at W. The stones composing the mound average .3m x .3m x .2m thick, but none occur in an upright position. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 991. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 July 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
