Field system in Coulagh,teeromoyle

In rough boggy pasture, on the S side of the valley of the Ferta River. This field system, which was identified and recorded by Harte (2002), covers an area measuring 1.1km E-W x 800m N-S. The surviving linear and curvilinear walls protrude above the surface of the bog and are generally in an overgrown and collapsed condition. The walls (av. T 1.04m; av. H 1.03m) mainly comprise slabs set upright and at right angles to the line of the wall. Some boulders, smaller rubble and angular stones were also noted. In some cases outcropping rock has been incorporated into the walls. The system comprises fields of various shapes and sizes. There are eight hut sites (KE070-122----, KE070-124----, KE070-125----, KE070-126----, KE070-127----, KE070-128----, KE070-130----, KE070-131----) and a possible hut site (KE070-123----) within this field system. A cross-inscribed stone (KE070-044----) and a mass-rock (KE070-044001-) lie immediately to the N of the field system.
