What is recorded here

A large complex of huts, mostly spread along the N side of the upper reaches of the Ferta river, where a narrow V-shaped valley is formed between Teermoyle and Coomacarrea mountains. The huts are situated in rough, scree-strewn grazing land and overlook the valley of the Ferta river, W toward Valencia Harbour. Two possible huts (KE070-073---- & KE070-073001-), with external diameters of 3.2m and 2.3m, survive as semicircular arcs of sod-covered stone walling. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 1375. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 1 August 2013
