Located on the S side of a tributary of the Ferta river, and commanding an extensive view SW to Valencia Harbour, the exposed surface of this cross-inscribed section of rock outcrop measures 2.07m x 1.lm The small linear Latin cross, .17m high, rises from a triangular expansion at its lower shaft. Close to the cross are inscribed the words 'DO NOT STIR’. The nature of the site is unclear and it is locally described as a mass-rock.
The above description is derived from O'Sullivan, A. and Sheehan, J. (compilers) 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University press. (1996), no. 943. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
