Excavation of the ecclesiastical enclosure (KE070-043----) revealed evidence for a wooden church (see Sheehan 1994, 41-2; 1995, 43-4; 1996, 40-41; 1997, 47; 1998, 82; 2000a, 89; 2000b, 112; 2004, 211-12; 2006, 214). The small rectangular building (ext. dims. c. 3.8m x 2m) was denoted by corner post-holes and underlay the children's burial ground (KE070-043001-) in the NE quadrant of the enclosure. It featured a post-hole towards its E end and a drain outside it at S, which have been interpreted as an altar-post and a sacrarium, respectively.
