This well-preserved fulacht fiadh is located in a flat marshy field, reclaimed from bog, on the N bank of the Ferta river. The sod-covered mound is of horseshoe plan, with overall dimensions of 11.3m N-S x 11.4m E-W. It stands .65m high and is open to N, where a shallow subcircular depression averages 2.7m in diameter. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 402. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 28 July 2013
