What is recorded here

In pasture, on a N-facing slope. The remains of a rath are evident as a circular area (diam. 18m) defined by faint traces of an earthen bank (Wth c. 3.5m; H 0.05m). According to local information, the rath was levelled many years ago. It was indicated as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on the 1893-4 OS 6-inch map. There is a possible souterrain (KE067-073001-) in the interior. This is probably the rath, in which was a 'cavern', which was recorded in Tullaha townland in the 1840s (OSNB, Killaha, no. 2, 8).
