What is recorded here

Lisbeg/Lios Beag: On the first edition of the OS map this site is shown as a circular enclosure. On the second edition it is marked ‘site of’’. There is now no visible trace of the enclosure. It was located on a gentle, facing slope overlooking the plain of the River Laune to E. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 821. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
