What is recorded here

Lismore/Lios Mór: This earthen enclosure was levelled around 1970. It was then densely overgrown and survived in a poor state of preservation (local information). Marked on both editions of the OS maps, it was situated N of Macgillycuddy's Reeks and E of the Cottoners river. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 678. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013
