What is recorded here

In marshy pasture, on a SE-facing slope. In the 1940s a fulacht fia was recorded in Felix Sweeney's land in the field of the well (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). The field of the well was identified by the present landowner but there are no visible remains of the possible fulacht fia. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
