What is recorded here

In pasture, on top of an E-W ridge with views to the N and S over Sliabh Luachra and as far as the Paps of Dana to the S. This standing stone (dims. 1.2m x 0.65m; H 2.25m) is roughly rectangular in plan and elevation and orientated NE-SW. It leans slightly to the N. It was recorded in the 1930s as a 'gallán stone...near the public road' though the townland was incorrectly given as Mastergeeha (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). An anomalous stone group (KE059-028001-) is c. 28m to the W. Compiled by: Elizabeth Byrne, Ursula Egan and Sheila Ronan, Archaeological Survey Unit, University College, Cork. Date of upload: 31 January 2011
