What is recorded here

In pasture, on a S-facing slope. This rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated as an oval enclosure (c. 35m N-S; c. 30m E-W) on the 1846 OS 6-inch map. It was described in the 1840s as a small rath, called 'Cockhill Fort', which was 'nearly defaced' and which was situated about 'five chains' NE of Cockhill Cottage (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 3, 31).
