What is recorded here

In improved pasture, on a W-facing slope. Large, linear rock outcrop (L 5.4m NE-SW; basal Wth 2.0m NW-SE; Wth at top 0.75m NW-SE). In a sheltered and inconspicuous location, on dead ground and is not evident NW->E, until close approach. No inscriptions are evident upon the stone; numerous aged lichens upon surface. According to local information, this had a tradition of use as a mass rock during the times of the Penal Laws (1691-1727AD). Not depicted upon OS historic mapping.
